LSAT® Genie is an LSAT® study tool. Do not upload copyrighted LSAT® content. Do not scrape or store Genie responses. Abuse of free trials, sharing subscriptions, or using the service for non-study or illegal purposes will result in termination.
Agreement to our legal terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the services operated by LSAT® Genie ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using LSAT® Genie (the "Services") you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.
1. Our Services
The Services are intended to help individuals prepare for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) by providing study guidance, explanations, practice prompts, and an interactive chatbot (the "Genie"). The Services are not tailored for professional, legal, medical, financial, or other regulated advice.
2. Prohibited activities
To protect our users, the integrity of the Services, and third-party rights, you agree you will not do any of the following while using the Services:
- Upload, paste, or otherwise provide copyrighted LSAT® question text or other copyrighted exam content you do not own or have rights to.
- Scrape, copy, store, or otherwise persist the verbatim responses from the Genie beyond transient use or for your individual LSAT® Genie studying purposes; scraping or storing chat responses for purposes other than individual study is a violation of these Terms.
- Abuse free trials, create multiple accounts, or conceal your identity in order to obtain more than one free trial; such conduct may result in immediate account termination.
- Share a paid subscription with other individuals who are not authorized on your account; sharing subscriptions is prohibited.
- Use the Genie for purposes other than studying for the LSAT, including but not limited to generating disallowed content, impersonation, or other non-study uses.
- Use the Services to engage in activity that is illegal in your local jurisdiction or in the United States; if we detect such activity we reserve the right to notify appropriate authorities.
3. User representations
By using the Services you represent and warrant that you will comply with these Terms, that you are at least 13 years of age, and if you are a minor where you live, that you have parental permission to use the Services.
4. Term and termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Services at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason in our sole and absolute discretion. Violations involving copyright infringement, scraping or the misuse of trials or accounts may result in immediate termination.
5. Limitations of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LSAT® Genie will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Services. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LSAT® Genie and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by you or any third party due to or arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another. You further agree to resolve any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services through arbitration prior to any civil action. You agree to be liable for arbitrarion fees and any other costs of arbitration. You agree that the arbitrator's decision will be final and binding upon you, but will not be binding upon LSAT Genie and LSAT Genie reserves the right to reject the arbitrator's decision. In the result of any litigation arising out of the Services or these terms you agree to pay all costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, incurred by LSAT® Genie in connection with such litigation.
6. Governing law
These terms and any dispute relating to the LSAT Genie product or services are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or LSAT Genie products or services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
7. Intellectual Property
We or our licensors own all right, title and interest in and to the Services, including all software, designs, text, illustrations, logos, graphics, and other material (the "Content"). You may access and use the Content only as permitted by these Terms.
8. LLM usage and copyright
The Services use a third-party large language model (LLM) to generate responses. The underlying LLM is not developed by LSAT® Genie. Any similarity between LLM-generated responses and copyrighted material is not intentional. We consider the use of the LLM to generate responses to user prompts to be transformative and for the purpose of study and commentary.
9. Disclaimer
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
